Websites for electricians

The site should answer what people otherwise ring you to ask.

An electrician gets enquiries by phone, usually while up a ladder. A site that answers the routine questions — what you take on, where you work, whether you are certified — means the calls you do take are the ones worth taking.

The problem

What it costs you while the site does not exist

  • 01

Your certification is the first thing people want confirmed and the last thing they can find. On a Facebook page it is stated nowhere.

  • 02

You work in particular areas. If the site does not say so you get calls from the other end of the country and miss the ones nearby who assumed you were too far away.

  • 03

EV chargers, fault-finding and a full rewire are completely different jobs. Someone searching for one of them needs to see their own word, not "electrical work" on its own.

  • 04

Companies and building associations looking for an electrician check the web before they ring. A Facebook page reads as a hobby, not as a registered contractor.

(02)

The requirements

What the site has to do for you in particular

  • The jobs listed in the words people actually type

New installation, rewiring, fault-finding, board replacement, an EV charge point, outdoor lighting. Each job gets its own line, because each line is a search someone is running.

  • The service area stated plainly

The municipalities you cover, written out. It saves you the calls you cannot take and wins you the ones you want.

  • Certification high up, not in the footer

Licensed electrician, company registration and liability cover. This is not decoration — it is the reason someone trusts you with their consumer unit.

  • A form that asks about the job, not just the name

What kind of job, where, when, and a photo of the situation. Then the first phone call is a quote rather than a questionnaire.

Client project

What that looks like

A website for an electrical contractor: clear service presentation, coverage areas and an enquiry form in one place.

(04)

What it involves

The work itself

  • Multi-page company website

When everything cannot fit on one page without becoming unreadable. Each service gets its own space and its own URL to share and be found by.

  • Quote and enquiry forms

A form asking only for a name and message means you have to call back for the basics. The right form delivers a ready-to-price enquiry.

  • Basic SEO

A beautiful site nobody finds delivers nothing. The basics are structure, descriptions and location data done right.

  • Mobile optimisation

Most visitors arrive on a phone. If they have to pinch, scroll sideways or hit a tiny link, they leave.
