MÓTA runs as a small, independent studio. That means the same person talks to you, designs the site, builds it and hands it over. No account-management chain and no salesperson who disappears after the contract is signed.
The advantage is speed and context: the person who hears what you say on the first call is the person making the design decisions. The limitation is equally clear — MÓTA takes on few projects at a time, because it does not work otherwise.

The price list is public. You should not have to sit through a sales presentation to find out what things cost.
The simplest thing that works
If you do not need a content management system, we will not recommend one. Unnecessary complexity costs money and breaks more often.
Phone first
Most visitors to Icelandic service-business websites arrive on a phone. Design starts there, not on a 27-inch monitor.
No inflated claims
No invented statistics, no fabricated testimonials, no awards nobody gave. MÓTA is new and says so.
You own the result
Domain, accounts and code are yours after payment. Continued collaboration should rest on service, not lock-in.

There are excellent web studios in Iceland. They often work for larger companies, with price tags and processes that fit a two-person electrical contractor or a local hair salon badly.
At the other end are cheap solutions that all look alike and deliver nothing — sites nobody updates and nobody finds.
MÓTA is an attempt to fill the gap between the two: careful design and solid technology, at a price a small Icelandic service business can justify, with ownership that is clear from day one.
The name
"Að móta" means to shape or to form. That is exactly what happens in a good web project: the business knows what it does, but the information is scattered across Facebook, old brochures and the owner's head. The work is shaping that into something a customer understands in ten seconds.

Technology choices always follow the needs of the project. A small introductory site does not need the same foundation as a multilingual site with bookings.
