Process
A simple path from idea to a working site
Six steps, no surprise detours. You always know where the project stands, what comes next, and what is on your side.
- 0115–30 minutes
A short conversation
You describe the business, what you want to achieve, and what is bothering you about the current situation. This can happen through the form, on the phone, or over a coffee.
Tell us about the business and what you want to change.
- 021–3 days
Scope and price
MÓTA defines the pages, functionality, who supplies which content, the price and an estimated schedule. It comes in writing so both sides know exactly what was agreed.
Read it through and ask about anything unclear.
- 033–5 days
Design
You see the visual direction and a homepage concept before anything is built. Changing direction is cheapest here, which is why this step is never skipped.
Say what works and what does not. Bluntness saves time.
- 041–3 weeks
Development
The full site is built and tuned for mobile. You get a link to a working version so you can follow along instead of waiting in the dark.
Send any remaining content, if something is outstanding.
- 052–5 days per round
Review
Two structured feedback rounds. You collect comments and send them together — that keeps the project on schedule and produces a better result than scattered messages over weeks.
Review the site on desktop and phone, and send all comments at once.
- 061 day
Launch and handover
The site goes live, the domain is connected, and accounts are transferred or shared. You receive an ownership overview, a summary of external costs and a short guide.
Confirm everything matches what was agreed.
The process in detail
For those who want to know exactly what happens from the first email to handover.
- 01
Enquiry
You send an enquiry through the form or call. The more you tell us about the business, the more precise the answer.
- 02
Initial assessment
We read it and assess whether MÓTA is the right studio for the job. If not, we say so and point you elsewhere.
- 03
Scope
Together we define pages, functionality, languages and who supplies what. This is the most important step.
- 04
Proposal
You receive a written proposal with a fixed price, a timeline and a clear boundary around what is included.
- 05
Deposit
The project enters the queue once the deposit is received. Until then there is no commitment.
- 06
Content collection
You send text, images, logos and domain access. We send a checklist so nothing is forgotten.
- 07
Design concept
You see the visual direction and a homepage concept before building starts. Changing things here is cheaper than later.
- 08
Development
The site is built, designed phone-first and tested on real devices as it goes.
- 09
Feedback
Two structured rounds. Collect your comments and send them together — that keeps the project on schedule.
- 10
Testing
Forms tested, links checked, speed measured, accessibility and layout reviewed across screen sizes.
- 11
Launch
The domain is connected, the site goes live, and search engines are told about it.
- 12
Handover
You receive accounts, an overview of external costs and a short guide to running the site.
- 13
Optional maintenance
If you would rather not think about the technical side, MÓTA Care takes over. Otherwise the project is simply complete.
Who does what
A clear division of responsibility is the single biggest reason projects finish on time.
MÓTA provides
- Structure and content organisation
- Design and visual direction
- Development and implementation
- Layouts for every screen size
- Technical configuration and integrations
- Pre-launch testing
- Launch and handover support
You provide
- Accurate company details
- Legal business information
- Descriptions of your services
- Photos of your work or premises
- Logo and brand assets if they exist
- Approval at each step
- Access to the domain or existing systems
If you do not have text or photos, MÓTA can assist with those as a separately agreed add-on.
What delays a website project?
What delays a website project?
This is not an accusation — it is simply useful to know in advance what slows projects down.
Missing content
The most common cause. The site is ready but the service descriptions or project photos are not.
Fix: we send a checklist at the very start, and we can begin with placeholder content.
Delayed feedback
The project waits while a review is pending. Two weeks of delay here means two weeks later to launch.
Fix: each feedback round gets a date in the proposal.
Changing scope
New ideas are welcome, but late ones affect both time and price.
Fix: we log changes and state their effect on price and schedule before doing them.
Missing domain access
The domain is often registered to someone who has left, or with a provider nobody has the login for.
Fix: we start hunting for that access at the beginning, not the day before launch.
New functionality late in the project
A booking system or payment flow added after design means part of the work is redone.
Fix: we ask about this in the enquiry form up front.
Ownership and handover
You own your website.
After full payment you receive access to the website, the domain and the services set up for the project. We want clients to continue working with us because the service is good, not because they are locked in.
- Published website on your domain
- Domain registered to your company
- Hosting access
- Source code where it is part of the scope
- CMS access where included
- Analytics access
- Configuration of where enquiries are delivered
- A list of external services
- Overview of annual fees and renewals
- A short guide to day-to-day use
- An offer of optional monthly maintenance
Passwords are not sent in plain-text email where it can be avoided. We use each system's own invitation flow, or time-limited secure sharing where available.
Please note: some third-party software is licensed or subscription-based and cannot be transferred. In those cases you receive access to the account, or clear instructions for setting up your own.
